This move was a direct response to the controversial directive by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, targeting gender-affirming healthcare for transgender minors. \u201cMy friend was terribly frightened,\u201d Bening said. \u201cWe need the Republicans to stand up and say that this is wrong. And that this is \u2014 it\u2019s heartbreaking for our country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
