Our aim is to shed light on the struggles and triumphs of the transgender community in a country where prejudices are deeply rooted.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Venice Film Festival Premiere<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We were honored to premiere &#8216;Woman Of&#8217; at the prestigious Venice Film Festival. This film, co-directed by the talented Malgorzata Szumowska and Michal Englert, is not just a story of personal transformation but also a reflection of Poland&#8217;s post-communist metamorphosis. The narrative intertwines the protagonist&#8217;s journey from childhood, marriage, parenthood, and eventual transition with Poland&#8217;s own societal evolution.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bridging the Gap<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;While &#8216;Woman Of&#8217; addresses a sensitive topic, we approached it with a delicate tone. Our intention is not to confront, but to unite. We aspire to build bridges of understanding and empathy, hoping to change the discourse around transgender issues in Poland.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Poland&#8217;s LGBTQ+ Struggles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Despite the rapid changes Poland has witnessed over the past three decades, LGBTQ+ rights remain a contentious issue. The ruling nationalist Law and Justice (PiS) party has been criticized for its stance on LGBTQ+ rights. However, through &#8216;Woman Of&#8217;, we aim to provide a fresh perspective, challenging stereotypes and biases.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Casting Challenges and Triumphs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Given the rarity of transitioning in Poland, finding a transgender actor for the role of Aniela was a challenge. However, with the guidance of our trans consultants, we made the bold decision to cast the renowned actress Malgorzata Hajewska-Krzysztofik. Her portrayal of Aniela&#8217;s struggles against societal norms and bureaucracy is both powerful and poignant.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">El camino por recorrer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We believe that cinema has the power to influence societal change.
