En febrero fue v\u00edctima de una operaci\u00f3n policial a trav\u00e9s de la aplicaci\u00f3n Grindr. Creyendo que hab\u00eda quedado con alguien, fue detenido y puesto en prisi\u00f3n preventiva en Doha el 4 de febrero. La t\u00e1ctica de atrapar a hombres homosexuales a trav\u00e9s de aplicaciones de citas es habitual en varios pa\u00edses \u00e1rabes.
