Peter Kaluma, representante de la ciudad de Homa Bay, intent\u00f3 anular una decisi\u00f3n anterior que permit\u00eda el registro de estas asociaciones. Mientras que algunas organizaciones de defensa de los derechos LGBTQ lo consideraron un paso adelante hacia la igualdad, otras, especialmente l\u00edderes religiosos, expresaron su desacuerdo, por considerar que no refleja las tradiciones y principios del pa\u00eds. El principal organismo musulm\u00e1n de Kenia, Supkem, expres\u00f3 su decepci\u00f3n, mientras que el Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, director de la Sociedad de Derechos de Autor de la M\u00fasica de Kenia,
