This global model aims for 95% of people living with HIV to be diagnosed, 95% of those diagnosed to be on treatment, and 95% of those on treatment to have an undetectable viral load. In Sweden, these targets have been reached and even exceeded, with respective rates of 96%, 99%, and 98%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Study Confirms the Results<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><br>These findings come from a study titled \u201cSweden surpasses the UNAIDS 95-95-95 target: estimating HIV-1 incidence, 2003 to 2022,\u201d led by Erik Lundgren, Macauley Locke, Ethan Romero-Severson, and their colleagues, and published in&nbsp;<em>Eurosurveillance<\/em>. The study draws on data from the national HIV cohort, established in 2003, which includes over 99% of diagnosed cases in the country. The analyses were conducted using bioinformatics methods, in collaboration with researchers from the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Targeted Prevention and Diagnostic Efforts<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Researchers emphasized that these results highlight the effectiveness of prevention and diagnostic efforts, particularly among people who inject drugs (PWID) and men who have sex with men (MSM).
