A Gathering for Trans Visibility and Rights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Los Angeles LGBT Center, in collaboration with the TransLatin@ Coalition, Equality California, and Advocates for Trans Equality, is organizing \u201cTrans Liberation Now!\u201d<\/em>\u2014an event dedicated to advocating for trans rights and amplifying transgender voices. Scheduled for Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 10 AM to 1 PM, the gathering will take place at the Anita May Rosenstein Campus in Hollywood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Local Movement with a National Impact<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This initiative goes beyond Los Angeles. Organizers are calling on organizations across the country to hold simultaneous demonstrations in support of transgender, non-binary, intersex, and gender-nonconforming (TGNBI+) communities. The goal is to amplify the movement and strengthen the fight against legislative attacks targeting these communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Response to the Growing Wave of Anti-Trans Legislation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With over 700 bills currently under review in state legislatures across the United States\u2014and the number expected to rise\u2014organizers are condemning what they see as a politically motivated attack fueled by the rhetoric of the Trump administration. The event will feature speeches, advocacy tools, and a resource fair, providing participants with information and ways to take local action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Call for Resistance and Solidarity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Joe Hollendoner, CEO of the Los Angeles LGBT Center, emphasizes the urgent need for mobilization:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Los Angeles LGBT Center is proud to stand with our transgender community and demand justice, protection, and full equality. At a time when political scapegoating and legislative attacks on transgender people reach the highest levels of government, we refuse to stay silent. \u2018Trans Liberation Now!\u2019 is a call to arms\u2014a declaration that we will fight for the rights, dignity, and very existence of transgender, bisexual, and intersex people (TGNBI+).”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
