The Dyke Berlin Festival 2024, organized by the Allesbien collective, returns for its second edition with even more ambition and diversity. This unmissable event will take place on August 31 and September 1, 2024, at the Campus Kippe, an outdoor space located near the S-Bahn station Betriebsbahnhof Rummelsburg in Berlin.
A Rich and Diverse Program
The festival promises a rich and varied program, blending music, artistic performances, workshops, discussions, and film screenings. Among the confirmed artists for this edition are DJ Cougar from Poland, known for his electro mixes, and Earl Gay, a Berlin-based DJ and drag artist. The stage will also feature La Papi, a drag king and LatinX transmasculine legend, and their partner Lito, along with burlesque performances and fashion shows.
An Inclusive and Safe Space
The Dyke* Berlin Festival aims to be an inclusive and safe space for all individuals identifying as dyke*, lesbians, queer, FLINTA, and their allies. The goal is to create a platform where everyone can feel accepted and celebrated, while highlighting the richness of lesbian and queer creativity.
Community Support and Participation
The organization of the festival heavily relies on community support through a crowdfunding campaign. The funds raised will cover artists’ travel expenses, accommodation, sound equipment rental, venue decoration, and much more. The Allesbien collective, working voluntarily, is committed to using every penny to ensure the event’s success and to organize other events throughout the year.
Introducing the Allesbien Collective
Allesbien is a lesbian collective founded in Berlin in 2022. Comprised of members from diverse backgrounds, primarily French-speaking, the collective is united by a common goal: to celebrate dyke* culture in all its forms. Allesbien organizes a variety of cultural and political events, such as workshops, cultural outings, film screenings, discussions, demonstrations, and parties. By creating safe and inclusive spaces, the collective aims to strengthen the lesbian community and promote diversity and inclusivity.
