Colorful Celebration Fills Madrid’s Streets
MADRID, July 7 (Reuters) – Tens of thousands of people filled the main streets of Madrid on Saturday, marching and dancing with colorful flags during Spain’s primary LGBTI pride parade.

“This is wonderful, I think this is the only place where people are truly free,” said Maria Alvarez, 43, expressing her joy to Reuters.

Promoting Education and Rights
The parade’s slogan, “Education, rights and peace: Pride that transforms,” highlighted the importance of diversity education as a vital tool in combating LGTBIphobia. The event, attended by government coalition representatives and members of the main opposition party, featured music, floats, and calls for social change.
Opposition to Far-Right Ideologies
“Far-right is always against progression and the opposite should always be supported, society should move forward,” stated Rober, 37, a hairdresser, emphasizing the need to resist regressive ideologies.
Calls for Peace
Participants and organizers also used the platform to advocate for an end to the conflict in Gaza.
