An Inaugural Event Beyond Celebration
A stage, performances, and an engaged audience: behind this opening night lies the comprehensive organization of Pride. In Lausanne, the event slated for April 5 at Romandie signifies far more than just a seasonal kickoff. It lays the foundation for a collective, political, and indispensable gathering.
Such initiatives fall within a broader movement reflected in major international LGBT events in recent years, where each gathering moment helps structure future mobilizations.
Kickstarting the Journey Towards Pride 2026
Long before the grand march on June 27, Lausanne Pride 2026 is already active. This launch event is a key moment for three main reasons: it helps fundraise, unites audiences, and asserts an immediate political impact.
Essential Fundraising Events
On Sunday, April 5, Romandie will host the official launch party. Despite its festive appearance, this date serves a very real need: Pride is also built through such events. Entrance is a pay-what-you-can model, and each participation directly aids the event’s organization.
An Independent Model Fueled by Volunteer Efforts
In a context where funding sources remain fragile, such evenings become crucial for maintaining an independent Pride fully supported by volunteers.
Showcase of Queer Talent
The lineup features the now-essential TALENT SHOW CHAUD CHO, managed by the Merryqueersmas collective. On stage, around ten participants will showcase their talents, competing for 500 CHF and a spot on the main Pride stage.
A Contest as a Visibility Platform
Led by Royale Cattin, the contest will be judged by Lakna, Narcix, and Joël Terrin. The audience will also have the chance to award their own prize. The evening will continue with a DJ set by Sabrina Oberlin.
A Gathering for Local Scenes
Beyond the performances, this evening aims to be a space for visibility and recognition. It offers a time for local and queer scenes in Lausanne to connect, support each other, and showcase their collective strengths.
A Political Dimension from the Start
Lausanne Pride is not just a celebration. Driven by the slogan “The Right to Be Yourself,” it takes on an explicit political stance: resist, care, progress.
Resist, Protect, Create Spaces
This involves countering reactionary narratives, supporting the most vulnerable communities, and continuing to create spaces of freedom. The launch event is an integral part of this mission, embodying its first tangible act.
Building Community Before the March
This evening is far more than a mere prelude. It marks the beginning of an already extensive OFF-pride program. It’s a moment to gather, spark momentum, and remind everyone that Pride isn’t confined to a single day but relies on long-term collective mobilization.
In this sense, it fits perfectly into the dynamics of current LGBT events and community initiatives that drive visibility and engagement year-round.
A Second Evening to Sustain the Momentum
For those eager to continue the momentum, a second support evening is already announced. On May 9, the Before Pride Party organized by the Lilith association will take over the D! Club with a lineup of 14 queer artists, featuring drag, burlesque, and DJ sets. Another way to strengthen bonds, celebrate, and contribute to future funding.
A Call for Commitment
Pride begins here. And it depends on all of us.
